Sam Doe – Dock Worker? Locksmith? Janitor?

Can you imagine spending twenty years dead before someone finds your remains? Sounds pretty bad! You know what’s worse? Going over forty years dead and no one knows who you are, your identity.

I guess it could be funny. You know if you were a criminal and always running from the law you probably didn’t want folks to know your name. But even criminals don’t think, don’t realize, wouldn’t consider that a man could go forty plus years without a name – unintentionally. It’s possible though. It’s very plausible actually. Take my story for instance.

Oh wait, I can’t tell you my story. For my story you’d have to know my name. And you don’t. So now what?

How about I tell you a short story instead?

On September 14, 1991, in a swamp off Eaton Lake, State Hill, town of Greenville, Orange County, New York a set of human remains were discovered. It was determined the remains belong to a white male approximately 55 to 65 years old, who formerly stood 5’8, who suffered from osteophytosis or in laymen’s terms bone spurs, and had extensive dental work done. He was wearing blue trousers; yellow, long-sleeved, fitted shirt; blue knit socks and shoes and a knit sweater with assorted buttons. There was also a pair of wing tipped shoes discovered. He carried a black, plastic wallet in the right, back trouser pocket.
Along with the remains some personal items were discovered: A black, plastic, memo book cover, U.S. coins dating from 1964 through 1972, a vinyl, gym-type bag, a T-shirt, a Dynabeat Timex electric watch with a rubber wristband, six keys with binding numbers G33221 and G39241 (possibly part of a master key program) and eye-glasses. The eyeglasses were imprinted with the name of Orange County optician D. J. Riehle. The bifocals were manufactured by Swank Opticians, between 1974 and 1978, based on the prescription: R-1.00\I-1.00 A+2.75 which is a common prescription for near-slightness.
These remains belong to me and remain unidentified.

It’s been estimated that I died sometime between 1971 and 1981. You are reading this in what year? You do the math. It’s been a long time.

Now you don’t know that I was criminal. It was just a way to make a point. You don’t know that I wasn’t a criminal. You don’t know who I was. That’s the point!

It’s about time someone figured out who I was. Don’t you think forty years is a tad too long to go without your identity, unintentionally?

They Call Me “Tiger Lady”

I’m dead but not forgotten. The detectives working my case have always seen me as a real person, why shouldn’t they I was. They are working hard to discovery my true identity. I deserve a name.

Hunters found me a truck parking area off Interstate 80 and Route 46 at intersection of route 94. For those of you who are not familiar with the roads near the Delaware Water Gap, I was found in the woods in Knowlton Township, New Jersey, in October 1991.

My body was badly decomposed and it took awhile to come up with a potential composite drawing that was close to resembling me. However, they did come up with a drawing that might help.

You are probably wondering why they call me Tiger Lady! I have a Bengal Tiger on my left calf. It’s a very intricate tattoo, someone should know this tattoo. Maybe you have one, or you know someone who had one, or you know where you might be able to have this tattoo done? It’s the tattoo that caused them to nickname me Tiger Lady. It’s nice to have a temporary name, until someone (maybe you?) can tell them who I really am.

Details about me that might help you identify me:

Caucasian Female
Age: 17-19 Years Old
Height: 4'10" - 5'2"
Weight: 95 - 110 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: May have been dyed Light Brown or Ash Blond
Tattoo & Pierced Ears (left one pierced four times)
Dentals available
No clothes were found

If you have figured it out by now I was killed. Some fool actually had the balls to kill me. They haven’t caught that person yet. That’s okay the killer will get justice. It’s my time now; I need to let my family know what happened. I need you to help them figure out who I am. Can you help? Will you tell everyone you know about my situation? Someone out there has got to know who I am. I believe with your help I’ll find that person. Thanks

Valerie Doe - sea serpent with abalone shell inlay bracelet

My name is Valerie. I think. A bracelet lay near me that contained the name Valerie. I was dubbed Valerie Doe from that point forward.

On May 25 or 26, 1991, I was located in a shallow grave by travelers in the Black Rock Desert. I understand the area was approximately 11 miles north of Gerlach, rural Pershing County, Nevada.

I'm described as being a white woman and 5'0 to 5'3 feet tall. One report says I have brown hair. No report describes the color of my eyes. My sketch demonstrates long hair, but I haven't seen a report describing the length of my hair. One report says I was 25 to 30 years old. Another report says I could have been up to 50 years old. So in 1991, I guess I was from 25 to 50 years old -- WOW. That's a huge age gap.

I guess the items found with me are the most telling of who I might be. I was wearing size 30, KIKKU brand denim jeans which were manufactured in England, a STAGE brand black blouse manufactured in Turkey (one size fits all), and a dark colored camisole slip. There were two bracelets found with my skeleton. One was engraved with the name Valerie and the other was a distinctive yellow metal bracelet in the shape of a sea serpent with abalone shell inlay.

It appears my cause of death was one or more gun shots to the head. WHY? Who did I piss off?

It's also been reported that a nationwide search of missing people provided no leads. That's why they had a forensic artist do the above sketch, in hopes to find my identity.

Is it possible that I lived with people or individuals who didn't recognize the laws of the United States? For instance, FLDS or like individuals? If this is the case maybe they haven't seen the reports about me, or failed to report me to the authorities since they don't recognize them. Possibly. Maybe it was more like international trafficking. It is important that people understand individuals are not only taken from the US elsewhere, but they brought from elsewhere to the US. It is possible I was one of those women brought to the United States. Maybe I ran and was caught. Maybe I knew to much and someone eliminated me.

I hope that whoever is looking for me finds me. I hope someone is looking for me. I hope my name is Valerie and someone can tell you what my last name is!

I hope I can be identified.
