John, Johnny, Robert or Ronald--you might as well call me JR

In April 1980, my friend Jack Roy Davis and I were staying in the Siesta Motel on 34th St. North in St. Petersburg, Florida. It was called the Siesta Motel and I guess that’s fitting since Jack and I took a permanent siesta on April 26, 1980, right there in that motel room.

I’ll be straightforward with you. We were killed. The police had a suspect, but he was gunned down by his girlfriend just four months after we were killed. I guess you can call that Karma.

My friend was identified as Jack Roy Davis of Knoxsville, Tennessee. The person suspected of killing us was also from Tennessee. Unfortunately, they couldn’t figure out who I was. The authorities came close. After investigating, they have reason to believe my name was John, Johnny, Robert, or Ronald and that I could have also been from Tennessee.

However, I also could have been from California or Missouri. I guess Tennessee is where most people probably assume I’m from since both Jack and the killer were from Tennessee. It makes you wonder did all three of us travel down to Florida together. Maybe that girlfriend was part of our posse. Maybe she knew something about who we were and why we were killed. Maybe that’s how they figured out my name was John, Johnny, Robert, or Ronald. You can throw around conjecture all day. Bottom line, that’s all they know, four possible first names, three possible states of origin.

Well, that’s not exactly all they know. They know some details about my physical description, clothing, and jewelry too.

I was a white male, 20 to 45 years old, leaning more toward 35 to 45. I stood 5'8", weighed 155 lbs., and had hazel eyes. I had what they are calling moderate length light reddish-brown hair. I also had a beard and mustache of the same color. My nose and forehead had freckles.

I didn’t have any tattoos, but I had some scars. There was one scar that was 16 inches long from the right side of my chest to the left with suture marks. Both my nipples had scars under them. I also had one scar on my left arm with suture marks. There were also two wire sutures in my sternum from prior heart surgery.
Nothing really interesting to call your attention to about my clothing, I was just wearing your typical blue jeans. However, I had two interesting necklaces. One was white metal with a white star, and the other was gold metal with a horn shaped medallion.

What was I doing in a motel room in Florida with two men from Tennessee? You may never know the answer to that question. What is my name? I hope that one day soon this you will know the answer to that question.

Eddie Doe - Was I homeless?

“She calls out to the man on the street
"Sir, can you help me?
It's cold and I've nowhere to sleep,
Is there somewhere you can tell me?"

He walks on, doesn't look back
He pretends he can't hear her
Starts to whistle as he crosses the street
She's embarrassed to be there"

Phil Collins song “Another Day in Paradise” was released in 1989. Do you remember this song? I’m not sure I ever got to hear it, you know, played on the radio. It’s a song that’s supposed to make people realize that homeless people are people too. There’s this article though that was released in August of 2009 by the Orlando Sentinel by Willoughby Mariano that discusses the homeless situation in Orlando Florida twenty years later and well to be honest it doesn’t sound like homeless people are treated any better by the world. No, in fact this article states “Forty-six percent of homeless people questioned in Orlando and Orange County in an ongoing local survey said they were physically attacked in the past four years by someone they thought was not homeless…” So it’s much worse than simply ignoring the homeless population. It seems that people are violent toward the homeless. The article also said Orlando had been ranked “as the third "meanest" city in the country,” and that in 2009 “at least two homeless men have been slain in Orange County.” Orange County is where Orlando is located.

The reason I bring all this up is because the authorities believed I was living a homeless lifestyle in 1990. Why does this matter? Well, on March 16, 1990 my remains were found in a wooded area believed to be where homeless people were living. They think I died up to two years prior to being found. That means I probably died before Phil Collins even wrote “Another Day in Paradise.”

If I was homeless it sort of explains why they were not able to identify me. There is always the chance that I was not homeless and I had been dumped or buried there by others so you would think I was homeless. Regardless of whether I was homeless or not, I had family. Everyone has a mother and father. Maybe I had siblings. Someone out there had to have been missing me. Someone out there may still be looking for me.

I was a White male, twenty to forty years old who stood 5’6 to 5’8 feel tall. They don’t have any descriptive information about me like hair, eyes or weight. However, in the area they did find a shirt, some boots and some keys.

The most descriptive information about me is where they found me. I was found behind Sewell’s Plastics. It was a wooded area 750’ West and 100’ South of 7400 S. Orange Ave, Orlando. Maybe someone out there knows the area?

Better yet, maybe someone out there knows who I am. Is that someone you?

That Darn Car! Help me tell my family what happened.

Not much is known about me. I still want you to know what happened. Maybe you can help them find my identity and my family can finally be told what happened.

On December 29, 1995, I attempted to cross Hwy 441 in West Palm Beach, Florida. I was struck and killed by a vehicle before reaching my destination. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any identification on my person. So they have no clue who I am. Do you? Can you look at my photo and tell others to look also. Maybe someone can recognize me.

Here is what they know about me:

Ethnicity: White
Age: Est. 25 - 30
Height: 5’3
Weight: 130 lbs
Hair: Straight Black
Eyes: Brown

I was wearing a navy Polo shirt, navy work pants, black socks and brown work boots.

Some might speculate that I was a hard working man that may have just simply lost his wallet in the crash, or before crossing the hwy. I can’t tell you what happened. Honestly, it doesn’t matter how I lost my identification. What does matter is that someone recognizes me and tells my family so they can have peace and I can rest in peace.

Please send my narrative and image to everyone you know and have them just simply look. Thank you.
