Ave Maria! Listen to a maiden’s prayer!

Ave Maria! Ave Maria! maiden mild!
Listen to a maiden's prayer!
Thou canst hear though from the wild,
Thou canst save amid despair.
Safe may we sleep beneath thy care,
Though banish'd, outcast and reviled -
Maiden! hear a maiden's prayer;
Mother, hear a suppliant child!
Ave Maria!

Ave Maria! undefiled!
The flinty couch we now must share
Shall seem this down of eider piled,
If thy protection hover there.
The murky cavern's heavy air
Shall breathe of balm if thou hast smiled;
Then, Maiden! hear a maiden's prayer;
Mother, list a suppliant child!
Ave Maria!

Ave Maria! stainless styled!
Foul demons of the earth and air,
From this their wonted haunt exiled,
Shall flee before thy presence fair.
We bow us to our lot of care,
Beneath thy guidance reconciled;
Hear for a maid a maiden's prayer,
And for a father hear a child!
Ave Maria!
Ave Maria

"The Lady of the Lake" by Sir Walter Scott

I was left just steps away from a cemetery. I was laid to rest by hands unknown. My life was taken from this earth by a cruel fate.

My hands bound behind my back. My body wrapped in a sheet. My face wrapped in cloth. My life snuffed out by a cruel fate.

Years have passed and this crime has gone unpunished. Years have passed and my identity remains unknown. Years have passed since my life was taken by a cruel fate.

Today I wait for the answers to come. Today I wait for the chance for my family to learn what happened. Today I wait for the chance to be laid to rest in peace with my identity known. 'Tis a cruel fate to make me wait. Yet here I wait. I wait for that day to come to pass.

How did they determine schizophrenia post mortem

Anonymous said...

They probably detected known drugs used to treat schizophrenia in screening for such things.

Gods speed that her poor soul is given a name..

At first I thought this might be Paulette Jaster, who has been missing from Michigan for a very long time now. But, in reading about Paulette's case on Doenetwork.org the dates don't match up. Although, Paulette did/does have bouts with mental illness ( i.e.- Schizophrenia ). I am dedicated to finding names for these people as you are Rebel and I will not stop. I'll keep following leads and following your blog. You have a great site going here and it's very helpful. I think I have many of these cases stuck permanently in my brain and they'll remain so even if they eventually get solved, which I know they will with us all working together. Take care all and thanks.

How sad 39 years later and no one is looking for her. Why would she have had the cloth with the holes in it? Poor thing, held captive and then killed? If she was schizophrenic did her family find that was the only way to restrain her and she ended up dieing while restrained? That could be the reason no one looked for her. Very perplexing. In the 50's & 60's people were still institutionalized when they had mental illnesses. I don't know about the 70's though. Could that be a possibility and institution didn't want to take responsibility so they just dumped her? So many possibilities but the thing that is so confusing to me is why her family isn't looking for her.

Killed on the third anniversary of Chile's coup using textbook death-squad methods, including the tranquilizer. The next month Pinochet's assassins killed Letelier in Washington. Coincidence? Perhaps she was a dissident on the run, snatched from a protest at some liberal university.
