Freddie Aikers Doe – Okay

Okay you can call me Freddie Aikers Doe it’s as good as anything right now. Who knows maybe you’ll find out it is my name, minus the Doe part.

My story is not unlike many others featured here on this blog. Oh sure the circumstances vary and other factors change it up a bit; but the bottom line, well the bottom line is the always the same. I’m dead and you don’t know who I am. I’m one of America’s Unidentified. I hear they are calling us an epidemic. Well who cares, we’re dead. We only want one thing – our names! So who am I?

In the Mid 90’s my remains were located off Ridgeway Dr. and Hwy 515 in Blue Ridge, Georgia. There seems to be a tad dispute as to the actual year I was discovered. The coroners office puts out information that says March 23, 1997 and Doe Network says March 23 1995, rumors are surfacing that the 1995 might be the accurate date. I think at this point you should know both dates and about the discrepancy. Just in case.

They say I’m a white male, about 5’8 or taller, with long dark hair, a beard (maybe a mustache too – since the artist drew one), dark eyes, a slim build and I was between 40 and 50 years old. I dressed in a Western Style shirt and blue jeans. Why don’t we go with all that information, for now! What choice do we have? It’s the only information about my physical identity that exists.

What else can I tell you? Oh well more hearsay, but it turns out that some guy in jail who claims to have killed me led the authorities to my skeletal remains. Seeing as how he knew where I was he must of, done it, you know killed me, or at least knows who did and where I was dumped. So based on this guys account:
My name is Freddie Akers. I was a truck driver who owned his own rig. I was from West Memphis, Tennessee, Arkansas or Oregon. On my truck route I stopped in Georgia, Texas, Oregon, Missouri and Arizona. My CB handle was “BA” or bad attitude and at some point I belonged to an MC, a motorcycle club, although he used the word gang.

I don’t know what deal this guy made to give up the whereabouts of remains. I don’t know if the information he is providing is even remotely accurate. Well actually, we’re talking about me, so I do know the answers to those questions. Just one problem. I’m dead. So you have to figure out if he’s telling the truth or telling stories.

What I do know that I can share from the great beyond is that I don’t have a name and my family still doesn't know what happened to me. So you’re gonna help old Freddie out? Get up off that … seat you’re sitting on and take some action? Not much just some? Tell others to look at my picture. Tell others to read this here blog thingy. And tell others to tell others to do the same thing. Get me my name back! It’s been too damn long. I’m ready to wrap this up. So get up and help me.

Where Did I Come From? Who Am I?

You can call me Brian. My death was tragic. The story of my life is unknown. Who I am remains a mystery. The circumstances of my life have turned into a puzzle that needs your help to solve.

In August 2001, a fisherman found my remains. To be more precise he found a partial skull, my skull well some of it anyway. The fisherman was in a ditch off the St Francis River in Poinsett County, Arkansas. He called the authorities.

After examination they figured out I was teenager, that I was black and that I was male. They determined that I had a slightly healed fracture on the nasal bones. That’s about all they know. However, they are estimating that I stood about 5 feet and 8 inches. It’s believed that I might have been about 15 to 19 years old.

Someone came up with a composite drawing for what I MIGHT have looked like. I say MIGHT because the ears, the eyes, the hairstyle and so on are all estimations for what I MIGHT have looked like. They did the best they could with what they had to work with.

I think the hardest part of this tragedy is that they can’t narrow in more precisely on when I might have died. The official record states the probable year of death 0 to 2001. YIKES. Seriously? I guess I could have died two years earlier or forty or more years earlier. I hope someone can figure this out. The more precise the date of death, the more chance I have of becoming identified.

The good news to my story is that they have my DNA. So if someone out there thinks there is a chance I might be related they can have their DNA tested against mine to see if it matches.

Do you like solving puzzles if you do maybe you can help me figure mine out. Was I from Arkansas? The St. Francis River is part of the Mississippi River that joins Arkansas and Missouri. Wikipedia describes the area and course of the river as follows:
The river rises in a region of granite mountains in Iron County, Missouri, and flows generally southwardly through the Ozarks and the St. Francois Mountains near Missouri's highest point Taum Sauk. It forms the Missouri-Arkansas border… and eventually exits the state at Missouri's lowest point in the "toe" at 241 feet. It passes through Lake Wappapello, which is formed by a dam constructed in 1941. Below the dam the river meanders through cane forests and willow swamplands, transitioning from a clear stream into a slow and silt-laden muddy river as it enters the flat lands of the Mississippi embayment. In its lower course the river parallels Crowleys Ridge and is part of a navigation and flood-control project involving a network of diversion channels and ditches along it and the Castor and Little Rivers. Below the mouth of the Little River in Poinsett County, Arkansas, the St. Francis is navigable by barge. It joins the Mississippi River in Phillips County, Arkansas, about 7 mi (11 km) north of Helena.
Along its course in Missouri the river flows through the Mark Twain National Forest and past Sam A. Baker State Park and the towns of Farmington, Greenville and Fisk. In Arkansas it passes the towns of St. Francis, Lake City, Marked Tree and Parkin as well as the St. Francis National Forest.
In addition to the Little River, tributaries of the St. Francis include the Little St. Francis River, which joins it along its upper course in Missouri; the Tyronza River, which joins it in Arkansas; and the L'Anguille River, which joins it just above its mouth.”
So many cities. So many locations. So many possibilities. So where am I from? How far did I travel? Can you help solve my puzzle and tell them where I came from and who I am?

Arkansas Rose: I need a real name! Do you know me?

My life ended on January 24, 2000. I was very young they estimate that I was only in my early 20's. I was found engulfed in flames in the parking lot of the College Avenue Baptist Church at 6100 El Cajon Boulevard, San Diego, CA. I had my whole life ahead of me. What happened?

Some very cruel and inhuman person or persons felt I needed to die. I'm wrought with grief in the gruesome manner of which my life was taken. My autopsy read "The woman had been stabbed and strangled to death. In addition, both of her hands and a portion of her left calf were missing, presumably cut off by the suspect to prevent authorities from identifying her." Who would have done this to me?

While I would love to bring the criminal(s) to justice, first I need to know who I am. Can you help identify me?

I was white.
I was in my 20's.
I was about 5'9 to 5'10.
I was 190 to 200 lbs.
I had light brown hair.

The doenetwork reported that I might have been from Arkansas originally.

Were you in San Diego in 2000? Did you go to church with me? Did you go to school with me? Was I your neighbor? Did I dance in a club you attended? Did I work at the local coffee house?

Are you missing a loved one in Arkansas that might fit my description?

Please someone, anyone, help me find my identity. If you know me call the police and tell them. If you know what happened call the police and tell them. If you heard a story that fits this one, call the police and tell them. I'll be eternally grateful. My family deserves to know what happened to me. If you can help please please do!
